Secures FAA Exemption for Heavy Lift Drone, Unlocking Commercial Operations

Draganfly Inc. announced it has received a Section 44807 exemption from the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) for its Heavy Lift drone platform. This exemption allows Draganfly and other authorized commercial operators to use the Heavy Lift platform at maximum takeoff weights greater than the standard 55-pound limit set by FAA Part 107.

The company stated that obtaining this Section 44807 exemption is a significant operational achievement in the commercial drone industry. The process for this exemption requires thorough validation of the aircraft’s airworthiness, fail-safe engineering, risk mitigation protocols, and operational safety to ensure integration into the National Airspace System meets aviation safety standards.
